Bigger and Better Chicago American Girl Store

For everyone in the Chicago area - look out for a newer and grander American Girl store opening on October 4th.  The store will replace the existing store in a nearby plaza.  I can’t believe that it is now 10 years since the original store opened - so it was probably needing an upgrade. 

Most of the existing features will still be there like the cafe and hair salon, but unfortunately the live theater will be closing: in fact the last show there will be today.  But I can tell you there will be some great improvements at the new store with an Avenue AG, a store within a store that offers accessories, girl and doll posters, design-it-yourself tees and sweet treats; and Celebration Screen, an entertainment experience that allows girls to share the spotlight with their favorite American Girl characters.

The location of the new store is Water Tower Place on 835 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611.  Also if you visit the new store on the grand-opening weekend, October 4–5, 10% of sales will support the Chicago Public Schools.
